FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nut undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee is influenced by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is prepared to be stronger.  Increased amounts of lower-quality beans make a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee keeps its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans make a taste that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of farming Arabica coffee beans, and the country’s specific topography makes it perfect for producing a tastey, top quality coffee bean. The coffee is renowned worldwide for its taste and the distinct mild but rich aroma which comes from each cup. This could explain why they have been producing coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their highest export for most of that period.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Altitude classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans produced at the highest elevation. These beans are named “strictly high grown”.

In a little saucepan, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated & the taste is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a little French press, put the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

Brew for 4 minutes, stirring once during the time. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as tasty. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by a lot of people, particually due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with great quality at high elevations. They are then processed natually on small farms by hand. The high elevation produces a nicer tasting coffee bean. Because of its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee types. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety & amount of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 mg per each espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the moisture amount gets to around ten%. This helps in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot higher moisture content, at times as much as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the regional area of Colombia. It is renound for farming the majority of Colombian coffee. There are four departments (which are the same as States & Territories in Australia) in the area that are: Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda & Tolima.
