FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nutty undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffee. They have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, being sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to produce stronger Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee is influenced by the processing, roasting & brewing methods. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is made to be stronger.  Higher percentage of lower quality beans produce a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee keeps its flavour profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian beans make a taste that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best on the globe. Colombia has a long history of growing Arabica coffee, & the country’s specific topography makes it perfect for producing a tastey, high-quality bean. The coffee is known worldwide for its flavour and the distinct mild but rich aroma that rises from each brew. This may explain why they have been growing coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their highest export for most of that time.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Altitude ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans produced at the highest altitude. These beans are referred to as “strictly firm beans”.

In a small saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is produced with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated & the flavour is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, place the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 minutes, stirring only once. Push down the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as flavourful. While retaining the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by many people, especially due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with excellent quality at high altitudes. They are then naturally prepared on little farms by hand. The higher elevation produces a nicer flavoured coffee bean. Because of its favourable climatic characteristics, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety & amount of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per single espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite tasty coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the water content reaches about ten percent. This helps in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot higher water content, at times as high as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
