FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nut undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffees. Colombian coffee beans have the most well known coffee flavour in North America, being sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to produce stronger Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting and brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be strong.  Increased amounts of low quality beans make a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee keeps its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans make a cup that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of farming Arabica coffee, and their particular topography makes it perfect for making a tastey, top quality drink. The coffee is renowned worldwide for its flavour & the distinct mild but rich aroma that comes from each brew. This could explain why they have been producing coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their biggest export for the majority of that period.

Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans grown at the greatest altitude. These beans are called “strictly high grown”.

In a little pot, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

Brew for four minutes, stirring only once. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee beans are best as a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally flavourful. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s farming conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by many people, particually because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with great quality at high altitudes. They are then prepared natually on little farms by hand. The higher altitude makes for a nicer flavoured bean. Due to its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee types. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 mg per each espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the water amount reaches around 10%. This helps in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly greater water amount, at times as high as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the regional area of Colombia. It is renound for culturing the most of Colombian coffee. There are four departments (which are the same as States and Territories in Australia) in the area that are: Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda & Tolima.
