FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nutty undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffee. They have the most distinct coffee flavour in North America, that of sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee compared to other coffee. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting & brewing methods. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only strong if it is prepared to be stronger.  Increased amounts of lower quality beans produce a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee keeps its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans provide a taste that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the finest in the world. Colombia has a long history of farming Arabica coffee, & their particular topography makes it ideal for making a delicious, high-quality drink. The coffee is renowned worldwide for its flavour and the destinctive mild but rich aroma which rises from each cup. This may explain why they have been cultivating coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their leading export for most of that period.

Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans cultivated at the highest altitude. These beans are called “strictly firm beans”.

In a little saucepan, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is marketed in blocks or grated & the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a small French press, put the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

Brew for four minutes, stirring once during the time. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s farming conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by many people, particually because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with outstanding quality at higher elevations. They are then prepared natually on small farms by hand. The high elevation makes for a better tasting bean. Due to its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffees. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the water amount reaches about 10%. This aids in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater water content, sometimes as high as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the regional area of Colombia. It is renound for producing the biggest amount of Colombian coffee. There are four departments (which are the equivalent of States & Territories in Australia) in the area that are: Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda & Tolima.
