FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nutty undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffee beans. They have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, that of sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee compared to other coffee. The strength of the coffee is influenced by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is made to be strong.  Increased percentage of lower quality beans make a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee maintains its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing processes.

These beans produce a cup that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica beans, & their specific topography makes it perfect for producing a tastey, high-quality bean. The coffee is renowned worldwide for its taste and the destinctive mild but rich aroma which rises from each cup. This may explain why they have been producing coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their biggest export for most of that period.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans cultivated at the greatest elevation. These beans are referred to as “strictly high grown”.

In a little saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is produced with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & cook for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, place the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 minutes, stirring once during the time. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While retaining the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, particually because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with excellent quality at high altitudes. They are then naturally processed on small farms by hand. The higher elevation makes for a nicer flavoured coffee bean. Due to its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee types. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per single espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the moisture content gets to around ten%. This helps in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially higher moisture content, sometimes as high as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the rural area of Colombia. It is famous for farming the biggest amount of Colombian coffee.
