FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nut undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most identifiable coffee flavour in North America, that of sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee is influenced by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only strong if it is made to be strong.  Higher amounts of lower quality beans make a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee keeps its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans produce a drink that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best on the globe. Colombia has a long history of farming Arabica beans, & their particular topography makes it ideal for making a delicious, high-quality brew. The coffee is renowned accross the globe for its flavour and the destinctive mild but rich aroma that rises from each cup. That could explain why they have been exporting coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for most of that period.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans farmed at the highest altitude. These beans are referred to as strictly hard beans”.

In a little saucepan, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a little French press, put the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for four minutes, stirring only once. Push down the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as tasty. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by many people, particually due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with outstanding quality at higher altitudes. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The higher altitude produces a nicer flavoured coffee bean. Due to its favourable climatic conditions, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffees. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the water amount reaches about 10 percent. This aids in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly higher water amount, sometimes as high as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the regional area of Colombia. It is famous for culturing the biggest amount of Colombian coffee.
