FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nut undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffees. Colombian coffee beans have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, that of sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is prepared to be stronger.  Increased percentage of lower quality beans produce a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee keeps its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian beans produce a cup that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest in the world. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee beans, and the country’s particular topography makes it perfect for producing a tastey, high quality coffee bean. The coffee is known accross the globe for its taste & the distinct mild but rich aroma that rises from each cup. This could explain why they have been growing coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their leading export for the majority of that time.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans cultivated at the greatest elevation. These beans are referred to as “strictly high grown”.

In a small pot, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is produced with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the taste is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a little French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

Brew for four min, stirring once during the time. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally tasty. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s farming conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by many people, particually due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with outstanding quality at higher altitudes. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The higher elevation produces a better flavoured bean. Because of its favourable climatic conditions, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per each espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the water content gets to about ten%. This aids in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot higher moisture content, at times as much as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the rural area of Colombia. It is famous for growing the majority of Colombian coffee. There are four departments (that are the equivalent of States & Territories in Australia) in the area which are: Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda & Tolima.
