FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nut undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffee. Colombian coffee beans have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, being sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting & brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be strong.  Increased proportions of lower-quality beans produce a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee maintains its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing processes.

These beans make a drink that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest on the globe. Colombia has a long history of growing Arabica coffee, & their particular topography makes it perfect for producing a tastey, high quality coffee bean. The coffee is known worldwide for its taste and the distinct mild but rich aroma that rises from each cup. This could explain why they have been cultivating coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their leading export for the majority of that time.

Many people regard Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation ratings are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans grown at the greatest altitude. These beans are called “strictly high grown”.

In a small saucepan, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is marketed in blocks or grated and the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low & simmer for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a small French press, place the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

Brew for 4 min, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While retaining the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by many people, particually because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with outstanding quality at high altitudes. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The higher altitude makes for a better tasting coffee bean. Due to its favourable meteorological characteristics, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per single espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the water amount reaches about ten percent. This helps in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater water amount, sometimes as high as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the rural area of Colombia. It is famous for producing the most of Colombian coffee.
