FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nutty undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffee beans. They have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, that of sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee is influenced by the processing, roasting & brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is prepared to be stronger.  Increased proportions of lower-quality beans make a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee keeps its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian coffee beans make a flavour that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the finest on the globe. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee beans, and their specific topography makes it ideal for producing a tastey, high-quality bean. The coffee is renowned accross the globe for its taste and the distinct mild but rich aroma that comes from each cup. That could explain why they have been cultivating coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their leading export for the majority of that period.

Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Altitude ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans farmed at the greatest altitude. These beans are called strictly hard beans”.

In a little saucepan, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low & cook for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, place the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

Brew for 4 min, stirring only once. Push down the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as tasty. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s farming conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, particually due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with great quality at higher elevations. They are then processed natually on little farms by hand. The higher altitude makes for a better tasting bean. Because of its favourable climatic attributes, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 mg per each espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the moisture content gets to around 10 percent. This helps in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater moisture amount, sometimes as high as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the rural area of Colombia. It is famous for growing the biggest amount of Colombian coffee.
