FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nutty undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffee beans. They have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, being sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is prepared to be strong.  Increased amounts of lower-quality beans result in a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee maintains its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian coffee beans provide a flavour that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best in the world. Colombia has a long history of producing Arabica coffee, and their specific topography makes it perfect for making a tastey, high quality beverage. The coffee is renowned worldwide for its taste & the destinctive mild but rich aroma which comes from each cup. This could explain why they have been growing coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their leading export for most of that period.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans produced at the highest elevation. These beans are named “strictly firm beans”.

In a little saucepan, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low & cook for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a small French press, place the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

Brew for 4 min, stirring only once. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by many people, especially due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with great quality at higher elevations. They are then naturally prepared on small farms by hand. The higher elevation produces a better flavoured bean. Because of its favourable climatic characteristics, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee types. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the water content gets to around 10 percent. This aids in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly higher moisture content, sometimes as high as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the rural area of Colombia. It is renound for farming the majority of Colombian coffee.
