FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nut undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffees. They have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce stronger Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting & brewing methods. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is made to be stronger.  Increased proportions of lower-quality beans make a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee keeps its flavour profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

These coffee beans produce a drink that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best on the globe. Colombia has a long history of growing Arabica coffee, and the country’s specific topography makes it perfect for making a delicious, high-quality beverage. The coffee is renowned accross the world for its flavour & the destinctive mild but rich aroma which rises from each cup. That may explain why they have been producing coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their highest export for the majority of that period.

Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude ratings are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans farmed at the greatest elevation. These beans are named strictly hard beans”.

In a small saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the flavour is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 min, stirring only once. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally tasty. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, particually because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with excellent quality at high elevations. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The high elevation makes for a better tasting bean. Because of its favourable climatic attributes, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per single espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the water content gets to around 10%. This helps in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater water amount, at times as much as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
