FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nut undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffees. Colombian coffee beans have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, being sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting & brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be strong.  Higher proportions of lower-quality beans result in a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee keeps its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian beans make a taste that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best in the world. Colombia has a long history of culturing Arabica coffee, & the country’s specific topography makes it perfect for producing a delicious, top quality beverage. The coffee is known worldwide for its taste and the distinct mild but rich aroma that rises from each brew. That could explain why they have been growing coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for the majority of that period.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude ratings are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans produced at the greatest elevation. These beans are named strictly hard beans”.

In a little saucepan, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a little French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

Brew for four minutes, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are best as a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as flavourful. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s farming conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by a lot of people, particually due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with excellent quality at higher altitudes. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The high elevation makes for a nicer flavoured bean. Due to its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per single espresso serving and up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the moisture amount reaches around ten percent. This aids in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially higher moisture amount, at times as much as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the rural area of Colombia. It is renound for farming the largest amount of Colombian coffee.
