FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, occationally with a nutty undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian beans. They have the most identifiable coffee flavour in North America, being sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce stronger Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee is influenced by the processing, roasting and brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be strong.  Increased percentage of low quality beans produce a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee maintains its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans produce a taste that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best on the globe. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee beans, and the country’s specific topography makes it perfect for producing a delicious, top quality drink. The coffee is known accross the world for its flavour & the distinct mild but rich aroma which comes from each cup. This could explain why they have been growing coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their leading export for most of that time.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Altitude ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans cultivated at the highest elevation. These beans are referred to as strictly hard beans”.

In a little saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, place the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for four minutes, stirring only once. Push down the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While retaining the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, especially because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with outstanding quality at higher altitudes. They are then prepared natually on small farms by hand. The higher elevation produces a nicer tasting coffee bean. Due to its favourable climatic attributes, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 mg per single espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the moisture content reaches about 10 percent. This helps in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater moisture content, at times as much as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
