FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nut undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffee. Colombian coffee beans have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce stronger Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting and brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is only strong if it is prepared to be stronger.  Higher percentage of lower-quality beans make a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee maintains its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian beans produce a flavour that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best on the globe. Colombia has a long history of culturing Arabica coffee, & the country’s particular topography makes it perfect for making a tastey, high-quality drink. The coffee is known accross the globe for its taste and the distinct mild but rich aroma that rises from each cup. This could explain why they have been cultivating coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their highest export for the majority of that time.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude ratings are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans farmed at the highest elevation. These beans are referred to as “strictly firm beans”.

In a small saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is produced with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is marketed in blocks or grated & the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low & simmer for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a small French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

Brew for 4 min, stirring only once. Push down the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as tasty. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by many people, particually due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with excellent quality at higher elevations. They are then processed natually on small farms by hand. The high elevation makes for a nicer flavoured coffee bean. Due to its favourable climatic attributes, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the moisture amount reaches about 10%. This helps in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot higher moisture amount, at times as much as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
