FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nut undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most identifiable coffee flavour in North America, that of sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting & brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is prepared to be stronger.  Increased percentage of lower quality beans make a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee maintains its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

These coffee beans provide a flavour that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest anywhere. Colombia has a long history of culturing Arabica coffee beans, & the country’s particular topography makes it ideal for making a tastey, top quality drink. The coffee is known accross the globe for its taste and the distinct mild but rich aroma that rises from each brew. That may explain why they have been cultivating coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for the majority of that period.

Many people regard Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation ratings are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans produced at the greatest altitude. These beans are named “strictly high grown”.

In a small saucepan, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low & simmer for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, place the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

allow it to stand for four minutes, stirring once during the time. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee beans are best as a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by many people, particually due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with outstanding quality at high altitudes. They are then prepared natually on little farms by hand. The higher elevation produces a nicer flavoured coffee bean. Because of its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee types. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per single espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the water amount reaches around 10%. This helps in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot greater water content, sometimes as high as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the regional area of Colombia. It is famous for culturing the biggest amount of Colombian coffee.
