FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nutty undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffees. Colombian coffee beans have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, that of sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce stronger Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is made to be stronger.  Higher percentage of lower quality beans make a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee keeps its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

These beans make a cup that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best on the globe. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica beans, and the country’s particular topography makes it perfect for making a delicious, high-quality brew. The coffee is renowned accross the globe for its taste & the distinct mild but rich aroma which comes from each brew. This may explain why they have been exporting coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their highest export for the majority of that time.

Many people regard Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Altitude classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans produced at the greatest altitude. These beans are known as strictly hard beans”.

In a small pot, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & cook for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a little French press, put the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 minutes, stirring only once. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee beans are best as a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally flavourful. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by many people, particually because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with excellent quality at higher altitudes. They are then naturally processed on small farms by hand. The higher altitude produces a better flavoured coffee bean. Due to its favourable climatic attributes, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee types. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per single espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the water amount gets to around 10%. This helps in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially higher moisture content, at times as much as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the regional area of Colombia.
