FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, occationally with a nutty undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce stronger Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee is influenced by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be strong.  Higher proportions of lower-quality beans make a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee maintains its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

These coffee beans make a drink that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best in the world. Colombia has a long history of farming Arabica beans, & their specific topography makes it ideal for making a tastey, top quality brew. The coffee is known worldwide for its taste & the destinctive mild but rich aroma that rises from each cup. That could explain why they have been producing coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their leading export for the majority of that time.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans grown at the highest elevation. These beans are referred to as “strictly high grown”.

In a small pot, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated and the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a little French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 minutes, stirring only once. Push down the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally tasty. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by many people, particually because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with great quality at high altitudes. They are then naturally prepared on little farms by hand. The high elevation produces a nicer tasting bean. Because of its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffees. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the water content reaches around 10%. This helps in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly higher moisture amount, sometimes as high as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is known as the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the rural area of Colombia. It is famous for farming the largest amount of Colombian coffee.
